The Language of Souls eBook Lena Goldfinch

The Language of Souls was a quick and enjoyable romance novella. I devoured this treat in on sitting and enjoyed every page.

Solena's journey starts with a dangerous climb into the mountains, as she makes her way to a foreign land in search of healing herbs to save her grandfather. When she is caught trespassing and stealing, she is taken captive by Rundan, a soldier out on patrol. He brings her back to his father, the army commander, who orders Rundan to take Solena to the royal courts, where she'll be executed. Will Rundan follow his father's cruel orders, and take Solena to her death sentence, or will their budding attraction save her life? You'll have to read The Language of Souls to find out.

The relationship between Rundan and Solena was wonderful. Goldfinch packed a whirlwind of emotion into this short novella that left me wanting more. I thoroughly enjoyed watching these two get to know each other. I loved the confusion, and the sparks of desire, as their story unfolded.

The descriptions were perfect. Often times, I find that when reading a novella, things feel rushed, but that was not the case with The Language of Souls. Each scene was painted vividly, allowing me to fully immerse myself into Solena and Rundan's story. Everything flowed smoothly, from narrative to dialogue to description.

And the ending ... It was the perfect mix of awkward and sweet. I absolutely love it. An awesome ending to a wonderful novella!

If you are looking for a quick romance that will make you smile, then pick this one up.

The Language of Souls eBook Lena Goldfinch Reviews

This is a wonderful short story. The author managed to create a society, a world, that was incredibly believable within a limited number of pages. I couldn't help but get lost in the story as the words reached up, grabbed me, and refused to let go. The little details, the culture of the people wove their way effortless through the book and made me feel like I had spent years reading about this world instead of a short hour. Not only was the author's world building phenomenal, she also created strong characters. Each was well rounded and as real as you or me. Their pasts influenced their actions and they changed throughout the story. I feel in love with both the minor and main characters as each had something to offer the story. My one and only complaint is that this story is so short. I wanted so much more after the last page and was disappointed to find that that was indeed the end. I look forward to reading more from this author.
4 out of 5 stars
The Language of Souls, the story of Solena, a girl who was recently named healer by her grandpeer, the Great Prophet of Torrani, has to leave him for a dangerous journey to Oden to find a healing plant for his lung disease, but on her journey she will find something more. Sometimes when love finds you, language, rivalries, culture don't matter, even if that love may seems impossible or even forbidden. But, for Solena that love will find his way to her heart and soul when she is captured by a handsome young soldier, Rundan, who's father is a ruthless warrior who can't be pleased not matter what Rundan does.
This tiny novella, bring about morally questions, that leaves the reader pondering them for a while. Should someone help his/her enemy? Should you give a part of yourself to save someone else? Someone who you don't know? Who may want your death? Should you follow your heart even may cost you your soul?. A truly mesmerizing story of love within the human soul. Original, unpredictable, fast-paced, easy to read, with great characters, packed with romance, adventure, and action. My only complain it was too short; I wanted more. It was a bit rushed. I wanted to get to know the characters better, about their cultures and the way they lived. What happens with the love between Solena and Rundan? Do the Great Prophet agrees with it?
Great but too short. 4 Stars
The Language of Souls is an extraordinary journey of one young woman whose unwavering courage brought her the most precious treasure that she could have ever imagined. It is a tale of one whose deeply felt duty and love drove to her to look beyond her fears and delivered her into an unspeakable destiny that she never saw coming or even dared dream about. She found the missing part of herself that even she was not aware that her heart was longing for.

Solena is driven by her adopted grandfather’s illness to seek out the only herb that would help to cure him. She is taken deep into the heart of forbidden land that is ruled over by a cruel enemy. Her love fuels her courage and her determination when she contemplates running back home. During her journey, she comes across a young soldier named Rundan who out of obligation to his own duties presents her to his father as an enemy trespasser. In his pursuit to please his father, he obeys his orders and takes Solena to the castle for judgment. However, fate has a funny way of taking charge when we stray from our heart’s desire for too long. Will Rundan and Solena both find what their hearts are desperately looking for, or will they ignore it for another chance to go through the motions of their duty? Will they choose to open their hearts to what is right in front of them, or will they continue to pretend that things cannot and should not be changed?

I still can’t let go of the beautiful characters in this book! They really came alive to me, and I hung on each word and action as it swept me away into their fierce and wonderful world. How the lives of Solena and Rundan became so entangled by complete random circumstances really fascinated and intrigued me. Watching as the events unfolded was like watching a marvelously complex ballet performance take shape while it entertains and dazzles the mind. The growing feelings, the tender interactions, and the delicate love that developed between them were breathtaking to say the least. I hated to see it end, but I absolutely LOVED the ending! It couldn’t have been better.

Lena Goldfinch continues to surprise and delight with her touching and delicate stories that are so intricately intertwined together. Her writing is so fluid and effortless that I never see it while she builds her exquisite world around me. I highly recommend this story to all romance and non-romance readers alike as it will tug at your heart and make you feel no matter who you are.
